Say goodbye to facial wrinkles with Botox or Dysport!
Botox Cosmetic (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is approved by the FDA for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in people ages 18-65. It can also be used to treat forehead lines and crow’s feet. Botox injections relax the facial muscles, resulting in a smoother appearance for the skin above. Most patients see results in about 3 days, and maximum results in about two weeks. The effects of Botox usually last for approximately 3-4 months after each treatment.
Dysport is a relatively new product in the United States, but it has enjoyed popularity in Europe for years. Both products work in similar ways, but there are some differences. Dysport has a lower protein load, and clinical studies suggest that results can last longer because patients potentially form less antibodies to resist the treatment. Dysport’s density also allows it to spread more, often allowing patients to enjoy continued results with less follow-up. Dysport is also more diluted than Botox, which makes it more cost-effective.
When you schedule a consultation, we’ll discuss the risks and benefits of both products with you, and help you make an informed decision about which treatment option is best for you.
